A wish for new types of petrol bikes

One fine afternoon I was thinking about electric vehicles and the charging infrastructure and the pros and cons of charging the vehicle at a station vs swapping out its battery.

The pros of swapping out the battery is that the process is much faster. You just drive in to a charging station, swap out the battery and you are good to go. Probably same time taken as filling the tank of a petrol vehicle.

The cons of such an idea is that all the batteries in all the cars have to be standardized which seems unlikely as the battery technology is still a long way away from maturing and newer and better batteries keep coming up making standardization difficult.

The pros of charging is you don't have to deal with swapping out a heavy battery.

The cons are it is a comparatively slow process and might test the patience of today's world with their instant gratification patience levels.

Then suddenly my thoughts switched to petrol vehicles and I thought it would have been cool to have a modular bike where you could switch the engine. A less powered frugal engine which is enough for a city ride, the everyday to and fro from office, giving a great mileage. And on the weekends you just swap out the engine or any other suitable technology component turning it into a powerful monster. A modular approach may even allow you to swap out the suspensions if you have off roading thoughts in mind. All done easily without being a mechanic and spending hours in the garage.

But before you think that there are already riding modes available  for toggling between different engine power in different bikes, I would like to point out that it doesn't change the weight of the vehicle. I would like my bike to be light and agile in the city traffic giving me a great mileage while being fast and furious in the highways satisfying my adrenaline rush needs and a good touring support. It will be a much better option than buying two or three separate bikes. You may not have the space to keep two separate bikes in today's cramped housing in cities.

But alas we have not reached such sophistication in design and this will just be my daydream.

College days -HOLI

As I happily handed over the last internals paper to the invigilator(happy not because of what i had written obviously but stressing on the word last) and rushed to my hostel I thought I had done the impossible.How wrong I was! my roommates library books awaited me,had to return those..I thought I still had time..grabbed those books and rushed back to the campus.BUT WAR HAD BEGUN..As the war cries of HAPPY HOLI filled the air .my classmates and friends looking like colorful aliens rushed towards me..converted me into their species,raped my fav tshirt and and then ran like hell as I chased them  in my ganji and kicked their butts.but war is rarely over so quickly so they sent their best fighters who merrily picked me (comeon atleast acknowledge my weight) and hurled me into the muddiest pond possible.
